TPABenefits, Inc., Offers Healthwise® Knowledgebase In Its Web Applications for Third Party Administrators Offering allows plan members to use their claims data to find relevant health information BOISE, Idaho, March 29, 2005- TPABenefits, Inc., and Healthwise announced today a new partnership that enables third party administrators (TPAs) to connect claims data to relevant decision-focused consumer health content. TPAs that license the TPABenefitsTM Web Solutions can now include the online Healthwise® Knowledgebase for their registered plan members and dependents. Members can log on to the site to access plan documents, prescription information, claims, and thousands of Healthwise medical topics that they can search by name, keyword, and category. "Giving members direct access to high-quality content that is specific to their medical treatment and/or diagnosis is truly consumer-directed health care," said James Burkholder, president of TPABenefits, Inc. "Now with a click of a button, plan members are able to access health content tailored to their medical needs." A third party administrator works with employee benefit plans to collect premiums, pay claims, and provide other administrative services. TPABenefits Web Solutions is designed to "mine" data from a TPA's existing benefit software program and present the different data needed by multiple end-users, including members, administrators for sponsoring health plans, providers, and employers. The addition of the Healthwise Knowledgebase in the member-facing side of the application provides people with a one-stop benefit and health information resource. When members access processed claims online, they can click on the claim, which is linked by diagnostic (ICD-9) code or test and procedure (CPT) code, and pull up the relevant health topic in the Healthwise Knowledgebase. In the Knowledgebase, people can also search for information on virtually every health topic.
